What comes in a Borrowed Trail kit?
Our kits include the core gear you need for a multi-day backpacking trip: a properly fitted backpack, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, cooking equipment, water filtration and other trail essentials. Your exact setup will depend on your trip, package and group size.

Can you outfit an entire group?
Yes. We can outfit groups for friends’ trips, clubs, and organizations. Share your group size, dates, and destination, and we’ll build a coordinated kit so everyone has what they need.
What if I’m new to backpacking?
Perfect. Borrowed Trail is designed for people who want to experience backpacking without becoming gear experts first. Tell us about your trip and we’ll help make sure you have the right equipment to get started.
What if I already own some of my gear?
Absolutely. If you already own some of your gear—or only need a few specific items—just let us know. We’ll work with you to customize your kit so you’re only renting what you actually need.
